CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Calibre Awards recognize and honor the excellence of the Project Team which has exceeded the expectations of our profession to bring the designers' vision to life. The Calibre Awards are a Southern California tradition that pay tribute to the true meaning of the project team and collaboration.
The Award winners will be announced and presented the evening of The Calibre Awards Gala at the Century Plaza Hotel on Friday, May 11, 2012.

Entry Qualification
All entries must be received by 5pm, Friday, January 13, 2012.Applications are to be submitted electronically - hard copy submissions will not be accepted. Entries will be reviewed for compliance with the rules and criteria of the awards. Only completed entries will qualify for judging. The submitting design firms will be notified no later than January 30, 2012 as to the completeness of their submittal.
Judging Process
Prior to the Calibre Awards entry due date, a panel is assembled, made up of IIDA Professional Members various IIDA Chapters. The panel will judge the qualified entries and will award points based on project statement, design philosophy and solutions, special challenges, team members' contribution and photography. The total score will be based, as follows:

Entry Cost
The cost for the first entry is $200, and each additional entry is $150. Entry fees are non-refundable. There is no limit to the number of entries a designer may submit. You may pay with credit card through the online submission form or pay by check from the designer or designer's firm.Make checks payable to IIDA Southern California Chapter and remit no later than January 13, 2012.

Rules and Criteria
All entries must be submitted online at www.calibreawards.com. Using the online entry form, all entries must be complete, including entry fee, entry form, written description, and project photography.- Only an IIDA Professional member, Associate member or Designer with membership pending may nominate a Project and Project Team for award consideration.
- The designer nominating the Project Team must include their name and IIDA membership number. The nominating design firm section is the only place that the designer's names may be included. Should the design firm members' names or company name appear in any of the narrative project descriptions section, it is cause for disqualification.
- The Project Team Information Section of the entry form must include complete team names and addresses.This Information Section is the only place team names and company names may be included; all other sections should remain anonymous. Should the team members' names appear in any of the narrative project descriptions, it is cause for disqualification.
- An IIDA designer with Professional, Associate or pending membership in another chapter may submit a Southern California project, as long as the Team is local to the submitted project.
- The nominated Project Team must consist of 3 to 5 individual members. The Project Team members may include the client, broker, project manager, general contractor, subcontractors, consultants, manufacturers, dealers or any other professional who made significant contributions to the project.
- For the purposes of the award, the designer is not a member of the team, even if their own residence or office is entered.
- Only projects located in Southern California, completed and occupied between October 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011 and not previously nominated will be considered.
- If the nominating designer is a member of IIDA outside of the Southern California Chapter, the local Architect of Record cannot be included as a team member.
- Additional team members may not be added at a later date if not included in the initial submittal.
- Points will be given on overall design based on the digital photographs of the project.
